Job Details

Title: General Manager

Location: Max's Best Ice Cream, 7770 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda MD, 20814

Reports To: Managing Partners, Pastry Chef

FLSA:

Position Summary: Front-end management directing and overseeing business activities at Max's Best Ice Cream with standardized policies in order to provide efficient, friendly services and profitable operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Leads the team by example providing excellent standards of customer service while participating in ongoing refinement of steps of service.
  • Hires and maintains associate staff according to seasonal needs by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Schedules and assigns stations for employees, provides oversight for shift swaps, communicating with ownership regarding time off and gaps in coverage.
  • Provides ongoing coaching for the associates to help maintain quality of product in a clean environment served in an expedient manner.
  • Scoops ice cream and prepares menu items as necessary in accordance with company standards.
  • Oversees accountability and discipline for associates in accordance with company policy, and when necessary, terminates employees.
