The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is seeking a Project Manager, Translational Science – Metabolic Disorders to lead one or more public‑private partnerships in diabetes and other metabolic disorders. These partnerships engage diverse stakeholders, including biopharmaceutical companies, patient advocacy not‑for‑profit partners, government (scientific and regulatory), and academic scientists to advance the understanding of metabolic disorders and accelerate translational and clinical research to develop new therapies.
Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day management and strategic decision‑making for existing project activities and development of new partnerships.
- Manage and guide scientific project meetings, logistics, timelines, budgets, and team members.
- Oversee one or more project managers, ensuring alignment with the Metabolic Disorders portfolio.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across government, academia, private sector, and non‑profit partners to facilitate service excellence and consensus.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain project budget and schedule adherence.
- PhD with at least 3 years of relevant project management experience.
- Strong record of managing relationships among scientific and administrative partners from diverse biomedical sectors.
- Experience in developing and managing contracts, including statements of work, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to relevant audiences and build rapport.
- Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to organizational priorities.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities to identify problems and work with teams to resolve them.
- Experience in diabetes and metabolic disorders research is strongly preferred; type‑2 diabetes experience is a plus.
- Regulatory science experience, consulting or client‑based background, project management certification, and supervisory experience are optional but advantageous.

Employment DetailsFull‑time, entry‑level position located in North Bethesda, Maryland. This is a hybrid role requiring regular visits to FNIH headquarters; fully remote candidates may travel to the office once per quarter for structured team‑building activities.
