Hardware Exploitation Engineer

Peraton is seeking a Digital Forensic Analyst to analyze electronic media related to sensitive ongoing counterintelligence investigations and operations. The analyst will utilize a variety of forensic tools to examine hard drives, storage devices, cell phones, PDAs, and other electronic devices that may contain evidence for court proceedings. Responsibilities include performing forensic analysis of digital information, handling evidence properly, and providing forensic and electronic discovery services such as evidence preservation, data recovery, electronic mail extraction, and database examination.

The role requires employing forensic techniques to crack files and system passwords, detect steganography, and recover deleted, fragmented, and corrupted data. Proper evidence custody and control procedures must be observed, with documentation suitable for courtroom presentation and comprehensive reporting.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in digital forensics across various media including Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, and iOS.
• Experience in writing detailed technical reports of analysis results.
• Proficiency with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Axiom, Forensic Explorer, Cellebrite, and others.
• Experience in identifying and analyzing malware.
• Formal training in computer science, forensics, or related fields.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
• Educational requirements:
  
  minimum 8 years with a BS/BA, 6 years with an MS/MA, or 3 years with a PhD in fields like Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, or Software Engineering.

8570, IAT Level 2 certification.
