About the Position
This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with the Director of Surgery, Eye Institute in Bethesda, MD.
Office/Work EnvironmentOffice/Work Environment: Clinic hours are Monday-Friday .
Parking at WRNMMC is limited, alternate means of commuting suggested.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties- Provides administrative oversight of healthcare systems and operations, including MHS GENESIS, manpower management, and clinical and program support activities.
- Plans, coordinates, and evaluates healthcare administrative processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advises senior leaders on administrative policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance impacting healthcare operations.
- Independently manages and prioritizes multiple administrative projects and competing deadlines.
- Performs budget support functions, including reviewing funding requirements, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring proper resource utilization.
- Supervises and coordinates workforce activities, including staff assignments, recruitment actions, performance management, and training.
- Analyzes operational and performance data to develop reports, briefings, and recommendations for leadership.
- Exercises sound judgment and discretion in translating complex information into actionable guidance that supports compliant healthcare delivery.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- You may be authorized to Telework on a Situational basis.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position may require the incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
