AboutThe Role
We’re looking for a Surveillance Radar Technician to join our Surveillance team in Bethesda, MD. In this role, you will play a hands‑on role in keeping U.S. air travel safe by supporting radar systems that are critical to national aviation.
What You’ll Do- Perform mid‑level technical execution for radar installation, integration, verification, and troubleshooting.
- Support installation, testing, and cutover activities for new radar systems.
- Work under senior technical guidance while contributing to mission‑critical aviation solutions.
- Lead and execute post‑site survey activities, installation readiness, acceptance testing, and legacy radar decommissioning and disposition across NAS facilities.

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of experience OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience OR HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years of experience.
- Hands‑on experience in radar systems, RF troubleshooting, FAA or military radar, or field installation support.
- Solid understanding of RF principles, wireless communication protocols, and radar system design.
- Experience with system integration, testing, and performance optimization.
- Proven, hands‑on expertise with short‑to‑medium range radar systems, including design, integration, testing, or operational support.
- Experience with custom application development for radar or wireless systems.
- Familiarity with FAA systems, air traffic control environments, or federal modernization programs.
- Familiarity with Next Gen surveillance modernization initiatives.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Certifications such as FCC GROL, CCNA Wireless, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques, radar simulation tools, or advanced networking technologies.
- Background in critical infrastructure sustainment or aviation safety standards.
Target Salary Range: $104,000 – $166,000. Salary is determined by factors including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
