Job Overview
Be an athletics coach in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). Coaches are qualified and hired for one season. Schools hire qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators. Emergency coaches may be hired if no qualified MCPS teacher is available.
Coaching Eligibility- Be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS.
- Have completed or be enrolled in the two-credit MCPS course “Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED.”
- Complete and submit the online MCPS Application.
- Level I – Be a certified teacher (not employed by MCPS). Same course and application.
- Level II – Be a high school graduate, at least 21 years of age. Same course and application.
