Instructor III — Graduate School of Nursing
Join the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) as an Instructor III for the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN). This role supports the GSN by preparing and delivering lessons that increase student knowledge in anatomy, biology, and physiology, and by providing mentorship and guidance.
This position is funded through July 31, 2026. The HJF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine and supporting military, medical, academic, and government clients.
Responsibilities- Provide dissection assistance to students during anatomical dissections and review prosections during lab sessions.
- Facilitate learning experiences to deepen student understanding of anatomy.
- Answer student questions and provide support through mentoring and outside classroom times, including office hours and pre‑exam review sessions.
- Mentor less experienced instructors.
- Assist in preparation and delivery of course practical exams, grade exams, and evaluate student performance on required presentations and/or laboratory work.
- May lead other instructional and/or instructional support employees.
- Maintain applicable lab safety protocols for all laboratory work.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including attendance of required training.
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree;
PhD/MD/DO/DC strongly preferred in relevant subject matter. - Minimum of 6‑8 years’ experience required.

- Expertise in human anatomical education and dissection.
- Knowledge of learning theories.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen and observe to identify student struggles.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Exceptional mentoring and teaching skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust Clearance.
- Lifting materials over 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
- Laboratory setting.
- Part‑time role with up to 29 hours scheduled weekly.
- Hourly pay range $50.87‑$80.00, determined by experience and education.
