Position: FINANCIAL CONSULTANT – ACCOUNT MANAGER

Ryan & Wetmore, PC is seeking a Financial Consultant – Account Manager for our offices in Bethesda, MD;
Vienna, VA; and Frederick, MD

. In this role, you will manage a defined book of business, serve as a strategic advisor to clients, and lead internal service teams to ensure high‑quality execution of financial consulting and benefits‑related services. You will oversee day‑to‑day client needs, conduct strategic assessments, support cost‑savings initiatives, and contribute to the growth of the firm's consulting practice.

Position Tasks Client Relationship & Account Management
  • Manage and maintain an assigned book of business, ensuring consistent, proactive communication and strategic oversight.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for clients on financial, benefits, and operational matters.
  • Manage day‑to‑day client inquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Build and strengthen relationships through ongoing outreach, education, and tailored service delivery.
  • Conduct client needs analyses and strategy calls to identify risks, opportunities, and evolving requirements.
Strategic Advisory & Service Delivery
  • Advise clients on cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining competitive benefits options.
  • Assist clients with required tax‑related payments, filings, or compliance support.
  • Lead enrollment meetings and participate in client presentations as needed.
  • Communicate industry trends, emerging needs, and regulatory changes to clients, consistent with the advisory expectations in the Finance Consultant role.
  • Provide high‑quality financial analysis and written reports to support strategic decision‑making, in keeping with existing Finance Consultant work products.
Internal Leadership & Collaboration
  • Delegate tasks and manage workflow for internal service team members, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Provide leadership within the extended service team by supporting training, collaboration, and process efficiency.
  • Manage complex accounts and ensure exceptional service delivery across all engagements.
  • Support firm initiatives by participating in marketing events and representing the firm in a professional manner.
Business Development & Growth
  • Identify and pursue cross‑sell opportunities to expand client service offerings.
  • Assist in the growth of the consulting practice through relationship expansion and market insights.
  • Contribute to firm projects and new service development, aligned with the Finance Consultant’s responsibility to explore new ways to add value.
Position Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Self‑motivated, disciplined, and able to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and comfort working at a strategic advisory level.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
Technical Skills
  • Strong technological capabilities, including proficiency with databases and financial systems.
  • Familiarity with quoting tools and processes (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, consistent with expectations in the Finance Consultant role.
