Position Description

Title: Manager, Innovation Programs

Reports to: Director, Innovation

Summary: Manages execution of AGA’s innovation programs and initiatives, including those of the AGA Committee for GI Innovation and Technology (CGIT). Supports the staff liaison to the AGA CGIT and manages the committee’s events and programs. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, motivated, detail-oriented, proactive and adaptable, with experience in program and project management.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Support the staff liaison to the AGA Committee for GI Innovation and Technology (CGIT).
  • Provide administrative support such as preparing meeting agendas, supporting materials, meeting minutes, and coordinating in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Manage the committee’s four working groups and their projects, including providing requested information/materials, coordinating virtual meetings, and ensuring goals and deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a resource for other staff managing programs that may relate to or complement the committee’s innovation and technology work.
  • Manage the day-to-day planning and coordination of the committee’s major programs and activities, including the annual AGA Technology Summit, the AGA Innovation Fellows Program, Innovation Member Network and events held during Digestive Disease Week (DDW).
  • Duties include organizing committee-sponsored sessions, receptions, and other CGIT activities; coordinating sponsor deliverables and faculty logistics; tracking and reconciling program budgets; and managing the application portal, review process, and related administrative tasks.
  • Support the supervisor in executing AGA’s innovation initiatives including fostering relationships with industry partners, early to mid-level startups/companies and innovators in the GI space.
  • Support the supervisor in recruiting and managing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), coordinating KOL program logistics, and maintaining the KOL database.
  • Manage the setup, tracking, and documentation of innovation projects within AGA’s project management system.
  • Ensure regular review and updates of CGIT/Innovation content on gastro.org to maintain consistency in branding, including active management of the Technology Summit and Innovation Fellows webpages.
  • Support the CEO and other leaders in managing activities related to the AGA GI Opportunity Fund (GIOF) and AGA Incubator.
  • Foster relationships with AGA members and other key stakeholders to enhance AGA’s innovation initiatives.
  • Work as a team member within the department and organization to facilitate mutual respect and positive working relationships with colleagues, industry partners, vendors/contractors, and association members.
  • Exhibit discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and information related to committee and organizational business.
