Guided Search Partners (GSP) Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships. We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.
About the OpportunityWe’re partnering with a well-established, growth-minded construction organization in the DMV that’s been building complex projects for decades across sectors like multifamily, education, life sciences, corporate interiors, hospitality, and more. This opportunity is open due to a planned retirement plus continued growth, and it’s a great fit for a project accounting professional who wants stability, clean books, strong leadership partnership, and the “right-sized” feel of a tight, collaborative team—without giving up resources or modern systems.
WhatYou’ll Do
You’ll own project accounting activities that keep jobs financially accurate, compliant, and moving smoothly working closely with project teams and the Controller. The work includes managing subcontractor-related processes and documentation (including systems like Oracle Textura), supporting project reporting and cost tracking, and helping maintain disciplined, GAAP-respectful accounting practices. You’ll partner across the organization—especially with project teams and accounting peers—to make sure reporting is clear, timely, and useful.
WhoYou Are
You’re someone who’s done project accounting at a general contractor and understands the pace, workflow, and details that come with construction finance. You’re organized, consistent, and proactive—comfortable collaborating with PMs and accounting teammates, and confident enough to ask questions, flag risks early, and keep things moving without drama. You like environments where leadership trusts the craft, values doing things the right way, and invests in tools and people.
Preferred Experience & AttributesSeveral years of project accounting experience in construction (GC background strongly preferred)
Familiarity with tools like Sage (ERP) and construction tech/process platforms (e.g., Oracle Textura; Procore exposure is a plus)
Comfort with GAAP-aligned practices and audit-ready discipline
Strong communication skills and a steady, detail-oriented working style
Open to candidates from subcontractor organizations if the fundamentals are strong
This role helps protect the financial integrity of active projects while supporting long-term, sustainable growth. You’ll be part of an accounting team known for being well-run, well-staffed, and above-board—where year-end closes are smooth and audits move quickly because the fundamentals are clean. It’s a chance to join at a moment of momentum, contribute immediately, and grow with an organization that’s investing in people, technology, and the overall employee experience.
