Staff Accountant

A well-established, privately held commercial real estate owner and operator with a long-standing presence in the Washington, DC metro area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. With decades of success and a diverse portfolio spanning office, residential, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use assets, the firm is known for its stability, strong leadership, and long-tenured team.

This is an excellent entry-level to early-career accounting role for a recent graduate or someone with up to 2 years of experience who is eager to build a strong foundation in accounting. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to full-cycle accounting while working closely with a supportive, experienced team.

• Support full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Perform account analysis and assist with financial reporting
• Work with property-level financials and operating data
• Learn and utilize property management/accounting software (training provided)
• Partner with senior team members to build toward more advanced responsibilities
• Over time, gain exposure to forecasting, asset management, and strategic analysis

• 0–2 years of accounting experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Strong Excel skills and comfort learning new systems
• Tech-savvy, curious, and eager to grow
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
