Responsibilities- Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non‑profit clients.
- Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
- Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision‑making, including presentations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures to support client strategy.
- Perform transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintain work papers.
- Analyze data, create visualizations, and support budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage grant allocation, reporting, and funder requirements.
- Prepare for and manage annual audit.
- Provide client and staff training opportunities.
- Passionate about working in or supporting non‑profit organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required). A stronger educational background is a plus.
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience working in a remote environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and respond promptly.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with multiple GL packages, especially Quick Books, and electronic bill‑pay systems.
- Non‑profit accounting, public accounting, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
- Customized cover letter explaining interest and qualifications is required.
The starting annual base salary is $90,000 to $125,000 for a 35‑hour work week. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided annually.
