Remote Hotel Pantry Cook - Qavartarvik Customer Lodge xROT

Overview

The Hotel Pantry Cook position is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of foods, completion of production sheets, and other related food service activities. This role will support or "cold cook" station, assisting with the preparation of cold sandwiches and salads for our grab-n-go program. This is a rotational position in Bethel, AK.

• Properly, safely, and efficiently prepare food products while following standard food-handling procedures.
• Follow assigned menu and recipes.
• Perform all cold line food production duties with items determined by the assigned shift.
• Prepare cold food items such as salads, cut fruit, sandwiches, and cold desserts.
• Review the day’s needs with the supervisor, complete production sheets, and verify supply needs and availability.
• Attend daily Culinary Planning Meetings (CPM) and participate in CARES weekly meetings.
• Maintain quantity and quality control in food production and ensure overall sanitation of assigned areas.
• Ensure work areas are cleaned and organized prior to the end of each shift to provide a seamless transition to the next shift or rotation.
• Follow proper rotation procedures for produce and dairy products.
• Maintain food production equipment and storage areas following sanitation, safety, and operational procedures.
• Recognize and use proper PPE for job tasks and follow all safety policies, requirements, and training.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one (1) year of pantry cooking or relevant experience.
• Experience cleaning and maintaining food service equipment.
• Contract requires candidate to obtain a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.
• Food Handler card, Alaska Food Workers card, or Serv Safe certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• Preference given to candidates with lodging industry experience.
