The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Within a 24-hour framework, responsible for the delivery of client care that promotes safety and well-being of all clients in the assigned department(s). To provide a healthy, safe structured environment; engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; provide therapeutic interventions as directed; function as an active member of the Bautista staff. Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel, when needed.
Expected to be an active participant in client social, educational and therapeutic activities. Must be able to take direction and have a commitment to learning.
- Deliver client care within a 24-hour framework, promoting safety and well-being of all clients in the assigned department(s).
- Provide a healthy, safe structured environment; engage clients and families in a therapeutic alliance; provide therapeutic interventions as directed; be an active member of the PATC staff.
- Assist with escorting clients within Bethel and outside of Bethel, when needed.
- Be an active participant in client social, educational and therapeutic activities.
- Take direction well and demonstrate a commitment to learning.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Substance Abuse Certification preferred.
- CPR, First Aid, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention required within first 90 days of hire.
- A valid Alaska Driver’s License required within 90 days of hire.
- Basic computer knowledge, accuracy and dependability.
- Ability to work in residential treatment environments.
- Ability to write progress reports that reflect client progress; read medication administration records.
- Ability to add and subtract money; solve practical problems; adapt to rapidly changing situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to understand and apply instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to appropriately respond to aggressive and violent client behaviors.
