Registered Nurse - OB

Sign On Bonus and Relocation Assistance:

  • $30,000 Sign-On Bonus with a three-year agreement*.
  • $15,000 Relocation and Retention Bonus eligible.

Position Summary:Responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates nursing care based on practice standards, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure quality, cost-effective care and optimal patient outcomes. Acts as a resource person, considering age-specific and cultural diversity in patient care. Supports Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporations mission, caring for patients across all age groups.

Position Qualifications:

  • Completion of a nursing program from an NLN approved institution.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • 1-2 years recent OB experience preferred.
  • License, Certification, Registration:
    • Licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse.
    • Current BLS, NRP, & Fetal Monitoring required. National Certification in Obstetrics preferred.
  • Equipment/Tools:
    • Proficiency in office equipment and medical devices including Fetal Monitor & Datascope, among others.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
    • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated nursing practice as described in Alaska State regarding Registered Nursing.
    • Ability to manage care across the continuum and administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide education.
    • Knowledge of AWHONN standards.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Oversight of unit secretaries and Techs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
