What You Will Be DoingAs an Office Assistant II, perform a wide range of clerical duties in support of the Alaska State Troopers for C Detachment's Yukon‑Kuskokwim Delta region. Provide support in judicial service, case management, payroll, and general clerical. Learn a variety of skills and a broad working knowledge of the Division of Alaska State Troopers that will prepare you for many promotional opportunities.

Position located full‑time at the Alaska State Trooper post in Bethel, Alaska. Work environment is friendly, team‑oriented and productive.
What We Are Looking ForExcellent customer service skills, demonstrating professional and friendly communication while handling a wide range of situations and demographics.
- Strong written, verbal, and detail‑oriented communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information.
- Attention to detail while working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment to ensure accurate data entry into multiple systems, reviewing documents, processing and routing court paperwork and handling payments.
- Experience and skill with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Time‑management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities from several sources while working independently with minimal supervision.
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
Substitution:
Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocation education equal one month of experience).

Note:
High school diploma equivalent means one of the following:
1) a GED;
2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours;
3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university;
4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks.
Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older.
Some positions in this class may require skill in typing. Recruitment and selection may include this requirement.
