Overview
MRG Exams West, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRG Exams, is seeking a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) Provider to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process. This is a non-treating role focused on independent medical assessments. The VA makes all disability determinations.
This role involves reviewing medical records through a secure Web Portal and performing comprehensive assessments on each veteran. The provider will complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal. DBQs are condition-specific forms created by the VA, and the provider will document exam findings needed by the VA.
DBQs are not used to make disability determinations; they support VA decisions. This position is not a treating role and involves assessment activity only.
This role typically reviews and assesses 3 Veterans per day on average.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
- Review medical health records via a secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments on each veteran.
- Complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal, documenting exam findings needed by the VA.
- Note:
The provider will not determine disability; the VA makes all disability determinations. - Conduct Independent Medical Assessments rather than traditional patient care & treatment.
- Spend at least 50% of the day reviewing medical records and electronically documenting exam findings.
- Proficient at finding key data points within large electronic medical records.
- Analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete the DBQs and form medical opinions.
- Typing skills are essential and time management is important to meet requirements.
- Ensure DBQs are submitted within 24 hours after an exam.
- Serve Veterans in their community.
- Current license as a Physiatrist.
- Board Certified in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Strong data extraction from electronic medical records and ability to synthesize findings into DBQs.
- Strong typing skills and ability to document efficiently.
