Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Trimpe Middle School. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship among middle school students. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to develop their physical abilities and self-confidence.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and healthy habits.
- Plan and conduct engaging and inclusive physical education classes that cater to students of varying skill levels and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student performance and progress in physical education activities, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, events, and competitions, promoting school spirit and student involvement.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate physical education with other subjects and enhance the overall educational experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated with current trends and best practices in physical education and wellness, participating in professional development opportunities as needed.
- Ensure the safety and proper maintenance of all physical education equipment and facilities.
- Promote a culture of health and wellness within the school community through various initiatives and programs.
- Valid Professional Educator License with appropriate Physical Education Endorsement.
- Previous experience teaching physical education is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physical education principles, practices, and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects diversity and fosters student growth.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
