Local CDL Route Driver with Tanker and Hazmat

Bessemer, AL – Bulk cryo logistics – ANC

Airgas is hiring a Microbulk Driver in Bessemer for the National Carbonation Division. This position is responsible for delivering CO2 products and related supplies to established customers along assigned routes while monitoring each unit to assure that it is operating properly and efficiently.

• Pay: $26 per hour
• Average 50‑hour work week
• Safety Bonus up to $2,000 per year
• Schedule:
  
  3 a.m. start time working Sunday‑Thursday with occasional Friday and Saturday
• Mandatory layovers when required
• Eligible for modern fleet, onboard computers, collision‑avoidance, camera technology

• Transfer product from Airgas truck to customer tank through hose hookup
• Inspect vehicles before and after use according to DOT and company maintenance checklist
• Load Microbulk tanks, fill customer owned Microbulk tanks as assigned
• Assist field service technicians with CO2 tank installations & repair work as required
• Maintain DOT, SAFECOR, and Airgas vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed
• Ensure the route truck remains in proper and safe working order and routine maintenance is performed on time

• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT, tanker & Airbrake endorsements
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two traffic convictions or at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years (specified combinations)
• No driving under influence of alcohol or controlled substances within the last seven years
• Work in a drug‑free environment
• Ability to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with aid of material handling equipment
• One year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or certificate of completion from trucking school within the last 5 years
