This role involves opening and closing the store, handling cash and inventory, delivering a customer-centric experience, and guiding team members.
Base pay range$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities- Open and close the store in the absence of management, including system start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring floor and stock rooms are ready.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving issues and answering questions.
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including greetings, eye contact, courtesy, proactive help, and satisfaction.
- Hold store keys to open/close without management as necessary.
- Coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the back door for deliveries.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, documenting scanning errors, price verifications, etc.
- Assist manager in reviewing order exceptions, reverse logistics, and evaluating/displaying merchandise.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and affected departments.
- Assist with Outdate program compliance.
- Set and adjust pricing, sign proper signage, and meet regulatory compliance.
- Assist in bookkeeping activities, cash reports, ledgers, and bill payment.
- Maintain store condition; request repairs when needed.
- Separate food items appropriately and rotate consumable stock.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Assist at Pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state/local laws on regulated products.
- Check team members’ bags before leaving the store.
- Comply with company policies, maintain respectful coworker relationships.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by manager.
- Serve as liaison between management and non-management team members, communicating assigned tasks when management absent.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Consideration of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
