About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Intermediate Cardiac Telemetry (ICT) working the night shift at UAB Medical West, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with severe and life-threatening conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans.
You will be expected to respond swiftly to emergencies, ensuring that patients receive timely interventions to stabilize their conditions. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about health management and recovery processes, fostering a supportive environment. Ultimately, your expertise and compassionate care will significantly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the overall success of the healthcare team.
SIGN ON BONUS: $10,000
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
- BLS certified or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Specialized training or certification in critical care nursing (CCRN).
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment and recovery.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records.
The required skills for this position include strong clinical assessment abilities, which are essential for monitoring patients' conditions and identifying any changes that may require immediate attention. Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with the healthcare team and providing clear instructions to patients and their families. Time management and organizational skills will help you prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all patients receive the care they need promptly.
Additionally, proficiency in using medical technology and EHR systems will enhance your ability to document care accurately and access patient information efficiently.
