The Shipping Clerk coordinates shipping priorities, verifies outgoing materials, and ensures accuracy, safety, and compliance in all logistics processes. This position also operates forklifts, prepares documentation, and supports continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
LocationFully Onsite - 4251 Turin Dr, Bessemer, AL 35020
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee shipping priorities and task assignments
- Lead accurate labeling, documentation, and shipment verification
- Serve as point of contact for resolving shipping discrepancies and customer issues
- Train and support Shipping Clerk I and II employees
- Operate forklifts and ensure team compliance with shipping and safety procedures
- Maintain excellent communication with logistics partners and internal teams
- Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiency
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of shipping/receiving or logistics experience
- Forklift certification required
- Strong knowledge of shipping systems and documentation standards
- Proven leadership and team coordination experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Monday - Thursday: 6am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 6am - 2:30pm
- Saturday (as needed): 6am - 11:30am
Candidates must be able to work up to 6 days per week with Saturdays scheduled on an as-needed basis.

RSMC offers a competitive pay package that includes an hourly wage and production bonus. The hourly rate is paid weekly. The production bonus is also paid weekly and is based on Production, Quality, and On-Time Delivery targets being met.
