About the Role

Mac Neal Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services Department is an adult psychiatric department that serves 69 inpatient beds. The Mental Health Tech (Mental Health Counselor) will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to provide behavioral intervention based on assessed needs for patients with psychiatric conditions and alcohol detoxification.

Employment Type

& Shift

Part time, 12‑hour night shift (7 PM–7 AM).

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply behavioral interventions as outlined in patient treatment plans.
  • Implement assigned aspects of the treatment plan under supervision.
  • Facilitate or lead group psychoeducation sessions and document sessions.
  • Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
  • Participate in the care of all inpatients as requested or directed by the Unit RN.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: Two (2) years of college with coursework in psychology or a related field; a bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 1–2 years of related mental health experience; inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Licensure /

    Certifications:

    Current CPR certification required; CPI certification preferred.
Compensation

Salary range: $20.02 – $31.03 per hour.
