Emergency Department Technician

Description

Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the general supervision of a Charge Nurse, assists both nurses and physicians with patients in the Emergency Department by performing both basic and complex patient care procedures.

12 Hour Day Shift

Entry level

• Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant OR an Emergency Medical Technician – either Ambulance, Intermediate or Paramedic preferred.
• One (1) year of previous experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred.
• Completion of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Current CPR certification at time of hire – BLS American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.
• Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal to communicate with patients, families and all levels of hospital staff.
• Prior experience with a computer including data entry.

Salary Range: $16.70 - $25.53 per hour
