Security System Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Security System Engineer to strengthen their IT security team. This Switzerland-based role offers an excellent opportunity to actively contribute to the protection and further development of a robust IT infrastructure within a global, forward-thinking organisation.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement security solutions across Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft 365
• Configure, operate, and continuously optimise Microsoft security tools such as Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Cloud
• Design and secure remote access environments using Microsoft technologies (VPN, RDS, Azure Virtual Desktop) and selected third-party solutions
• Manage endpoint protection and conditional access policies using Microsoft Intune and Azure
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and alerts using Microsoft’s security toolset
• Enforce compliance and data protection policies via Microsoft Purview
• Ensure alignment with security frameworks and standards such as TISAX, GDPR, and NIST using Microsoft Compliance Manager
• Harden systems including Windows OS and SQL Server using Group Policy and the Microsoft Security Compliance Toolkit

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Several years of hands‑on experience in IT security
• Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Defender tools and security management for Windows Server and client systems
• Solid experience in identity and access management with Active Directory and Azure AD
• Good understanding of network security fundamentals, including firewalls, VPNs, and Azure networking
• Experience applying security baselines and system hardening best practices
• Microsoft certifications (e.g. Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals or Azure Security Engineer Associate) are a strong advantage
