Charles Levick have partnered with a global Energy Trading business, We have been commissioned to find a highly motivated Head of Algo Trading as they continue to expand their ever growing team.

• Lead and grow a high-performing algorithmic trading function, promoting innovation, structured execution, and strong collaboration across teams in fast-moving market conditions.
• Design, implement, and refine advanced trading strategies focused on European short-term electricity markets within a highly integrated trading environment.
• Own and drive algorithmic trading results, including responsibility for performance and profitability.
• Oversee the development and optimisation of quantitative models across both speculative and asset-backed strategies.
• Work closely with intraday trading desks to ensure robust, round-the-clock market coverage across multiple regions.
• Track market dynamics, uncover new opportunities, and contribute to the long-term ambition of building a leading presence in European power markets.

• Demonstrated success in algorithmic or quantitative trading, within energy or closely related markets
• Strong people leadership skills with experience building, developing, and guiding technically driven teams
• Solid understanding of the infrastructure and technical components required for effective algorithmic trading, and the ability to align technical and commercial stakeholders
• Advanced programming capability (e.g. Python), particularly in the context of scalable, low-latency, production-grade systems
• Commercially minded with a strong balance between strategic thinking, innovation, and disciplined risk management
• Full professional fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
