Employee Relations / HR Specialist – (6-Month Contract)

An exciting opportunity to join a growing Employee Relations function and directly support employees through some of their most important moments. We’re looking for an HR/ER Specialist who thrives in a people-focused role, enjoys coordinating multiple stakeholders, and brings empathy, structure and confidence to complex situations.

You will work across three Swiss sites (Bern, St. Gallen, Zurich) and take ownership of long-term sickness case management, ensuring smooth processes, clear communication and a supportive reintegration journey for employees.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate long-term sickness cases (30+ days) end-to-end
  • Act as the main contact for employees, managers, insurers and care managers
  • Organise round-table meetings and ensure documentation is accurate
  • Support personalised return‑to‑work plans
  • Guide managers through sensitive people matters
  • Track cases proactively and keep all parties aligned
  • Help shape a developing ER function with new ideas and structure

What you bring

  • Experience in HR Operations, Employee Relations, Social Insurance or Health Insurance
  • Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Confidence handling sensitive situations and supporting managers
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable coordinating multiple stakeholders
  • German fluency required;
    English for internal teamwork;
    French is a plus
  • Practical HR training (e.g., HR Assistant) beneficial, not mandatory

Working model

  • Based primarily in Bern, with occasional travel to St. Gallen and Zurich
  • On-site presence needed for sensitive employee meetings
  • Hybrid model: minimum 3 days per week on site (including one Monday or Friday)
