Finance Specialist:
Startup and Innovation Project Review (m/f/d) 80–100%

In the Audit & Assurance team, we ensure that funding is used correctly, transparently, and in compliance with legal requirements. In this role, you will take on important responsibility in the financial auditing of companies and project funding instruments, thereby making a significant contribution to the credibility and effectiveness of innovation promotion.

The position is initially limited to two years, with the option for extension.

With your analytical and solution-oriented mindset, you independently carry out assessments and analyses of start-ups and innovation projects across various funding instruments. In doing so, you combine in-depth analyses with structured, recurring audit steps and contribute to efficient processes.

• Financial Due Diligence (Light):
  Analysis of the financial situation of start-ups and SMEs (including liquidity, cost structures); conducting extended project reviews and preparing well-founded decision-making bases.
• Project Cost & Eligibility Review
  :
  Examination of interim and final cost reports (personnel, material, and management costs) as well as assessment of eligibility in accordance with legal requirements in national and international funding projects.
• Monitoring & Reporting
  :
  Ensuring the financial monitoring of funded projects; preparing evaluations and decision-making bases, and contributing to the further development of reporting and analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
• On-site Audits
  :
  Participation in selective on-site audits (interviews, sampling, documentation).
• Cross-functional Collaboration
  :
  Interaction with start-ups, SMEs, universities, and internal specialist units; contributing to the continuous improvement of processes.

Our requirements:

We are looking for a highly analytical and communicative individual who works independently and feels comfortable in a regulated environment. You hold a university or university of applied sciences degree in business administration, finance, or a comparable field, and you bring 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in audit/assurance, controlling, or financial/credit analysis. Experience in start-up financing or venture capital is an advantage.

Complementing your profile, knowledge of Power BI is an advantage but not a requirement. You work independently, carefully, and in a solution-oriented manner, and you enjoy working and communicating with a variety of stakeholders. In addition, you have excellent German skills (C1) as well as very strong written and spoken English skills (C1), particularly for preparing professional summaries and decision-making documents.

Knowledge of another official language completes your profile.
