Data Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our Corporate Development & Data Team This is a high‑impact role with significant influence on business strategy, supporting Category and Private Label Brand (PLB) decision‑making.
You will partner with commercial, service, and executive teams to convert complex data into clear, actionable insights and decision options. Working closely with senior executives, you will support strategic planning and tactical decision‑making to optimise performance, inventory, and commercial outcomes across the business.
RESPONSIBILTIES- Partner closely with Category Directors and PLB leaders to provide data-driven insights that directly inform category strategies, PLB roadmaps, and key commercial decisions (e.g. overstock risks, underperforming products).
- Analyse historical data and actual-to-sales results to identify business risks, opportunities, and performance drivers for Category Management and Private Label Brands teams.
- Present clear recommendations, scenarios, and key KPIs during Monthly Sales Reviews and other senior forums, framing decisions that supports executive decision‑making.
- Translate complex data into concise, executive‑ready narratives, supporting decision framing, portfolio thinking, and commercial prioritisation for senior stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business insights, driving strong adoption and enabling teams to turn forecasts into clear actions and commercial decisions.
- Support Category Management with 3‑year category strategy development and PLB teams with data‑driven demand forecasting, including trend and best‑seller identification.
- Work with our N/Os to optimise inventory levels and purchasing decisions.
- Leverage advanced analytics, automation, and AI‑driven tools to improve forecasting accuracy, scenario planning, and decision support over time.
- Facilitate planning cycles, workshops, alignment forums, and presentations, enabling effective cross‑functional
- Actively contribute to provision of information for brand negotiations and tracking and other strategic planning cycles, ensuring alignment between data, strategy, and execution.
- Work closely with data and analytics colleagues, understanding data sources, data models, and how insights are generated, with the ability to run or interpret queries and challenge data where needed.
- Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to connect data to commercial and strategic outcomes.
- Solid understanding of consumer and marketplace trends, supply chain, merchandising, and inventory management principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of Power BI; ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Change‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on adoption, impact, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior management and executive audiences.
German & French – Advantageous but not required
Other languages – Advantageous but not required
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND5 years’ experience as a Planner or equivalent, with exposure to sports, multi‑category retail, or related industries with proven influence on business decisions.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUNDBachelor's degree or equivalent experience:
