We are now seeking a Global Category Manager for Raw Materials. This newly established hybrid position is part of our Supply Chain/Procurement strategy implemented in 2024. The role is located in either Kvistgaard, Denmark or Bern, Switzerland, requires 15% travel to other Bavarian Nordic locations as needed, and reports to the Head of Global Procurement.

As the Global Category Manager for Raw Materials, you will develop and implement a category strategy to provide resources on time, minimize risk to customers, and ensure optimum price. You will build strong networks and foster collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and team members on a global level.

• Develop and maintain category plans that identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, drive cost savings, manage risk, improve safety, drive innovation, and ensure the continuous development of categories managed.
• Supervise, plan, manage and assume complete responsibility for all activities and processes associated with the categories assigned.
• Perform procurement reporting and analysis of management information to identify potential improvement opportunities.
• Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization.
• Address strategic vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
• Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors to further strategic priorities.
• Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within the category to improve business performance.
• Develop best procurement practices for the category.
• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, business or related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
• +7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or related field delivering similar job outcomes.
• Proven track record of managing global categories and leading strategic procurement initiatives and delivering value.

This role is part of our Supply Chain global organization established in 2024. With your solid experience you will contribute to shape our Supply Chain strategy going forward. You will have the mandate to influence operational practices globally while driving a culture of category excellence within Bavarian Nordic.
