Registered Nurse - New Graduate (AVH- ICU)

Position Summary
This position offers a unique opportunity for new graduate nurses to transition into professional practice through comprehensive training, individual preceptorships, and simulation experiences. The Registered Nurse - New Graduate will engage in a structured orientation and mentorship program, ensuring the development of critical clinical skills and professional confidence.

Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.

Licensure
Current RN license in the practicing state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with renewal.

Work Experience

Additional Expectations
Employment contingent upon passing NCLEX within 6 months of hire date.

Essential Functions

  • Participate in a formal orientation program, including designated hours for hands‑on training and simulation sessions.
  • Deliver patient care under the supervision of experienced nurses while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Engage in simulation training to develop and refine clinical and decision‑making skills in a controlled environment.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to create and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, post‑treatment care, and preventive strategies.
  • Assist with procedures and the management of medical equipment as required.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
  • Reflect on practice and receive feedback from mentors and preceptors to enhance professional growth.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and other educational opportunities to continue professional development.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
  • Respond to patient requests and concerns with empathy, providing a high level of customer service.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills while gaining exposure to different nursing roles and specialties.

Non-essential Functions
