Senior Software Engineer (f/d/m) PHP & Payments

Join us in building an efficient, secure payment platform that integrates providers like Pay Pal and Stripe and ensures reliable real‑time transactions. You will work from our offices in Zurich, Berlin, or Brussels, or remotely from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, or Belgium as an 80‑100 % employee.

• Engineer robust payment platforms with consistent performance for high concurrency and real‑time transaction volumes.
• Ship code efficiently by following common best coding practices such as SOLID, KISS, TDD, and BDD.
• Maintain existing Payment Service Providers to ensure reliable operation with no disruptions, including monitoring and on‑call duty (additional compensation).
• Provide technical research, estimates, and translate business needs into technical tasks to support product prioritization and delivery.
• Equip dependent teams with necessary knowledge and mentor junior team members on payment topics.
• Incorporate secure design principles into routine engineering.
• Create and maintain internal and external documentation.
• Maintain and improve deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, and incident response workflows to support high availability and performance in production environments.

• Proficiency in PHP and Symfony (or a similar PHP framework).
• Experience integrating payment service providers such as Pay Pal, Stripe, etc.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and event‑driven microservices.
• Aiming for simplicity and attention to detail when necessary.
• Skill in gathering and translating high‑level requirements into technical specifications.
• Fluency in unit and functional testing, code reviews, Git workflows, and continuous delivery.
• Fluent written and verbal English (at least C1).
• Team player mindset, eager to support teammates.
