WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Cloud Native Engineer, you will drive the backend development and infrastructure of our customer-facing platform to make the impact of companies on people and the environment fully transparent. You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from concept to implementation, using cloud-native technologies on AWS. As an early employee at a fast-growing VC-backed startup, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful launch of our product and driving forward the digital transformation of ESG data.

You will work with an international and cross-functional team of world-class software engineers, product owners, and designers.

• Develop our cloud-native backend services based on continuous customer feedback, data analysis, and product requirements.
• Design and implement Graph
  
  QL APIs, scalable event-driven workflows, and automate the serverless infrastructure of your team.
• Continuously monitor the serverless infrastructure and tune it for scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Shape our early-stage product and company’s architecture, toolchain, and development practices.
• Keep the technical debt low with test automation and writing well-structured and clean code.
• Learn new things every day and share your knowledge with the team and the outside world.

• You are highly proficient in building scalable backend systems using Node.js with Type Script in a serverless cloud environment, preferably on AWS.
• You are comfortable in managing infrastructure as code, preferably with CDK or Cloud formation.
• You work collaboratively with your colleagues and consider what is best for the team. You have exceptional communication skills and can work effectively in a distributed team and a remote-first environment. You value diversity and inclusion.
• You think creatively, are solution-oriented, adaptable to change, and strive to learn continuously.
• You live and breathe the “you build it, you run it” mentality and write well-structured and tested code.
• You have profound experience in designing scalable event-driven architectures, preferably on AWS.

We are a remote-first company. You can either work out of our headquarter in Berlin or remotely. Choose the setup that works best for you. Remote locations should be within +/- 3 hours of CET time. We regularly get together at co-location weeks to strengthen a great culture across geographies.
