Fotografiska Berlin – the contemporary museum of photography, art, and culture – opened in September 2023 with a mission to inspire new perspectives and spark conversations through photography and contemporary art. More than a museum, it’s a vibrant cultural space where art, creativity, community—and cuisine—come together.

Our guests can enjoy creative dining experiences that blur the line between art, culture, and gastronomy. From specialty cocktails enjoyed while exploring the galleries to full-service dining in beautifully designed spaces, food and drink are integral to the Fotografiska experience.

The Freelance Floor Manager plays a central on-the-ground role in the successful delivery of events. This position is primarily focused on front-of-house operations, service excellence, and live event execution, acting as the operational lead during events.

Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the smooth on-site execution of events and the delivery of a high-quality guest experience
  • Lead, brief, and coordinate event and service teams while ensuring service and brand standards
  • Prepare, oversee, and manage all event spaces before, during, and after events
  • Manage live event flow, timings, and transitions, resolving issues proactively as they arise
  • Act as the main on-site point of contact for internal teams, external partners, guests, VIPs, and artists
  • Ensure compliance with operational, service, health, and safety standards
  • Take ownership of on-site decision-making and operational responsibility during live events
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of experience in event operations, hospitality, or floor management, ideally in a cultural, hospitality, or premium event environment
  • Proven ability to lead service teams and manage live operations in fast-paced settings
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • Confident decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple teams effectively
  • High service awareness with a strong focus on guest experience
  • Fluent in German and English; written skills are an advantage
  • Proactive, team-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about culture, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences
