Freelance Technical Writing Workshop Instructor / Course Designer for Software Engineers (f/m/x)
CODE University of Applied Sciences is looking for a Freelance Lecturer for Technical Writing for Software Engineers (f/m/x) to teach an in‑person course on its Berlin campus. The course is based on "Docs for Developers" by Bhatti et al., but candidates are encouraged to bring their own materials.
Students will learn to write software documentation (README, contributor’s guide, diagrams, etc.) and submit a software repository demonstrating this. The program supports the use of large‑language models.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver the course and support students’ learning.
- Hold office hours (remote possible) to help individual students.
- Adapt or create course material as needed.
- Assess student submissions at semester end.
- General knowledge of software development.
- Passion for the written word.
- Experience documenting software.
- Experience as a workshop leader or teacher.
- Comfortable teaching and communicating in English, with strong writing skills.
- Entitled to work as a freelancer in Germany.
- German bank account.
- Freelance contract with €50 per hour.
- Environment encouraging curriculum development.
- Duration:
Spring Semester 2026 (February‑May). Possible extension. - Location:
CODE’s campus in Neukölln.
