Manufacturing Cost Estimator

As a Manufacturing Cost Estimator, you will be responsible for managing and driving all phases of Cost Estimating for all AVNA facilities, including New Britain CT, Berlin CT, and AVNA Costa Rica.

• Manage and drive all phases of Cost Estimating for all AVNA facilities.
• Manage due dates, required actions, and prioritization of quote estimates in collaboration with Sales & Business Development.
• Manage and drive weekly Quote Prioritization meetings with internal stakeholders.
• Complete the following tasks related to all RFQs:
• Able to use and update the Quote Dashboard (Smartsheet), as needed.
• Work with Inside Sales & Business Development to understand customers’ requirements, expectations, timing, etc.
• Analyze customer blueprints/drawings/CAD and other technical documentation.
• Determine what is required for materials, purchased components, outside services, and internal manufacturing process steps.
• Work directly with outside suppliers and vendors and initiate RFQs for all required raw materials, purchased components, outside services, etc.
• Determine what is required for internal manufacturing process steps and outline a detailed process flow/routing and requirements for manufacturing the part.
• Work directly with all internal key technical stakeholders to confirm or obtain all required process information, cycle times, setup times, perishable tooling, production tooling, NRE charges, and new capital equipment requirements.
• Work with Manufacturing Operations & Supply Chain to determine existing equipment capacity and any new Cap Ex requirements to support new opportunities.
• Understand the customer’s project timeline and determine the required production lead times in collaboration with Sales and Manufacturing Operations.
• As needed, request and/or attend meetings with internal and external customers to review part drawings, requirements, and to provide DFM feedback.
• Complete the Quote Estimate Sheets and populate all available information. Review and confirm all information for accuracy.
• As needed, setup internal “Final Quote Review Meetings” with internal key stakeholders, prior to finalization and formal submission.
• Analyze and quote all PPAP/Qualification/Validation activities required for a specific part/project.
• Analyze and quote any required Production Tooling/Fixtures/Equipment/NRE for a specific part/project.
• Effectively communicate with different departments (Sales, R&D, NPI, Toolroom, Finance/Accounting, Operations/Supply Chain, AVNA Costa Rica, etc.), on existing or new quote opportunities.
• Drive improvements to the cost estimating procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy and reduce discrepancies between quoting & costing models.
• Hold self and others accountable to actions items and due dates.
• Travel to customers, suppliers, events, industry trade shows, AVNA’s Costa Rica facility, etc., as needed.
