Role DescriptionVALYNT is seeking a Fleet Manager / Logistics Coordinator to oversee day‑to‑day fleet operations for its growing transportation division based in Greater St. Louis
.
This is a full‑time, on‑site leadership role responsible for managing truck dispatching, driver coordination, fleet utilization, compliance, and operational efficiency. The Fleet Manager will play a key role in ensuring that VALYNT's transportation network operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company growth objectives.
Responsibilities include coordinating driver schedules, managing shipment logistics, monitoring fleet performance, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with DOT and transportation regulations.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple moving parts in a fast‑paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily dispatching and scheduling of fleet vehicles and drivers
- Coordinate local and regional freight movements to ensure on‑time deliveries
- Communicate with drivers, clients, and internal teams regarding shipment status and scheduling
- Monitor fleet utilization and optimize routing and load efficiency
- Track shipments and resolve logistical issues in real time
- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and transportation regulations
- Oversee driver logs, vehicle documentation, and safety records
- Coordinate fleet maintenance and service scheduling with vendors
- Assist with driver recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives
- Monitor fuel usage, operational costs, and fleet performance metrics
- Ensure accurate documentation for billing and client invoicing
- Support company leadership in scaling transportation operations
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong work ethic
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Experience in logistics, fleet management, transportation operations, or dispatch
- Familiarity with DOT / FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience managing drivers and transportation schedules
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle operational challenges quickly
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment - Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
- Proficiency with logistics platforms, scheduling software, and tracking tools
- Working knowledge of Quick Books for billing and invoicing
- Strong computer literacy and ability to manage digital logistics systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership and operations teams
- Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset
- Experience with dump trailers, construction materials hauling, or scrap metal logistics
- Prior experience in fleet management or transportation leadership roles
Salary Range:
$75,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience)
Performance incentives may be available based on operational results and company growth.
