5+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, Security Engineering, or a similar role
Strong Linux experience (Red Hat preferred) with hands‑on troubleshooting
Experience supporting database security or monitoring tools in production
Solid understanding of databases, queries, and database operations; able to partner with DBAs
Proven experience managing production incidents and working with vendors to resolve issues
Nice to Have Skills & Experience- Partner closely with a senior database security engineer on daily operations
- Maintain and support database security and monitoring tools (e.g., Imperva)
- Monitor database health, security alerts, and incidents; troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Patch and upgrade database security applications and supporting systems
- Work directly with vendors (open tickets, join calls, drive issue resolution)
- Support database incident response and remediation efforts
- Assist with migration and installation of database security tools in GCP
- Collaborate with DBAs on database‑related issues, queries, and performance concerns
- Support Mongo
DB and other database platforms (SQL and No
SQL) - Occasionally participate in after‑hours support as needed (patching, incidents); otherwise standard M–F schedule
Insight Global is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a telecommunications client in St. Louis, MO, with strong Linux and database security experience to support and maintain enterprise database security and monitoring platforms. This role focuses on keeping critical database security applications stable, secure, and available, while partnering closely with DBAs, vendors, and cloud teams. The SRE will play a key role in incident response, patching, vendor management, and an upcoming migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This is not a Linux administrator role; instead, the focus is on application reliability and database security tooling, including maintaining and supporting tools such as Imperva, monitoring database health and security alerts, troubleshooting and resolving incidents, patching and upgrading systems, collaborating with DBAs on database performance and queries, supporting Mongo
DB and other SQL/No
SQL platforms, and assisting with cloud installation and migration efforts. The role includes occasional after‑hours support for incidents or patching, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule otherwise.
