Transmission Project Manager – St. Louis, Missouri

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead transmission line projects throughout the entire project life cycle, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, quality control, schedule, and budget management.
  • Produce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrently.
  • Work independently and/or direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians and administrative staff.
  • Lead the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
  • At times, be responsible for overseeing non‑engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, construction management, and other services.
  • Leverage existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world‑class services.
  • Perform client management, project management, and/or technical support activities.
  • At times, support and engage in broader business development activities with existing and target clients in the region.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Commitment to being an active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience using project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of project life cycle, contract terms, risk, WBS, scope/schedule/budget, project initiation, planning, financial management and controls, earned value, communication, team management, change management, and closeout.
