Position: Phantom Works Industrial Engineer (Associate or Experienced)

This position is with the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works team and is located in Berkeley, MO. The team is seeking Industrial Engineers.

Position

Industrial Engineer: apply industrial engineering concepts and techniques to optimize products, processes, and services in alignment with program requirements. Develop plant layouts, capacity plans, and workflows while evaluating new technologies for integration into production and service operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain, and optimize production systems by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conduct workflow design and analysis to enhance operational efficiency and improve quality.
  • Develop models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data, providing summary analysis and metrics for leadership consultation.
  • Research, design, and implement processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Standardize assembly practices.
  • Prepare operations plans, including budgeting, capacity analysis, and production change management to meet technical goals.
  • Support execution planning through project management, planning, scheduling, and shop load practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and ergonomic guidelines.

Location and Requirements

This position is expected to be onsite at one of the listed locations. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance and US Citizenship as a condition of employment; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Program access requires US Citizenship.

Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience): Level 3: 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or similar field. Experience supporting stabilization and improvement efforts in a manufacturing setting. Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers. Experience working with manufacturing assembly line technicians to support their efforts.
