The Boeing Company is seeking a Systems Engineer (Mid-Level & Senior) to head a team focused on defining, authoring, and managing system-level requirements for the F-15 USAF simulator program (flight simulators, trainer systems, Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) federations, and associated subsystems) in Berkeley, MO
. This leader will ensure requirements are clear, verifiable, traceable, and aligned to program objectives, certification targets, and standards.
F-15 Training Systems provides trainers to USAF facilities throughout the US and at OCONUS locations to support warfighters. The F-15 Training systems include high fidelity cockpits with immersive visualization systems, high fidelity computer generated forces to provide synthetic opponents to train against, and applications providing instructors control over training setup, execution and post-training debrief.
Position Responsibilities- Lead a team of systems engineers responsible for authoring, reviewing, and maintaining system and subsystem requirements for the F-15 simulator program
- Define and enforce requirements quality standards, templates, and patterns to ensure verifiability and consistency
- Establish and maintain requirements traceability from stakeholder needs through design, implementation, and verification (requirements → ICDs → test cases)
- Coordinate cross-discipline intake of stakeholder inputs (subsystems, training Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), software, hardware, simulation, visual teams) and translate to system requirements
- Execute requirements reviews, technical interchange meetings, and design reviews; identify gaps and drive closure with owners
- Develop and maintain compliance matrices, gap analyses, and remediation plans for standards (Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS), program-specific guidance)
- Mentor and develop team members in requirements engineering best practices, MBSE/SysML, and DOORS
- Interface with other teams on requirements interpretation, ICDs, and verification acceptance criteria
- Support verification planning by deriving testable acceptance criteria and coordinating test‑case development with Verification & Validation teams
- Maintain configuration control of requirements baselines, coordinate change boards, and ensure impact assessments are complete
- Provide leadership during integration phases, government reviews, and accreditation activities; present requirements status to program leadership

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- Experience authoring high‑quality, verifiable system requirements and ICDs for complex systems (simulator or avionics experience strongly preferred)
- Proficiency with requirements and ALM tools (e.g., DOORS, Jira) and configuration management practices.
- Experience in requirements traceability and verification planning; ability to derive test cases from requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication with demonstrated ability to facilitate reviews and lead cross‑functional teams
- 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience (Senior Level
4) - Experience with MBSE/SysML modeling and translating models to requirements
- Experience with SCARS, DMO, or other simulator architecture/standards
- Experience managing supplier requirements and participating in contract negotiations or SOW/ICD authoring
- Prior Boeing or defense simulation program experience
