Missouri Ozarks Community Action (MOCA) is a non-profit organization focused on supporting low-income families and individuals across eight Missouri counties, including Camden, Crawford, Gasconade, Laclede, Maries, Miller, Pulaski, and Phelps. MOCA aims to foster self-sufficiency through the effective use of federal, state, local, and private resources, offering programs such as Head Start, Section 8 Housing, and Energy Assistance. This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lead Teacher, based in Rolla, MO. The Lead Teacher will develop and implement lesson plans, create a nurturing and engaging learning environment, and support the educational and developmental needs of children in the Head Start program. Responsibilities also include maintaining strong communication with families, mentoring support staff, and adhering to program policies and guidelines to ensure program quality and compliance.
Qualifications- Experience in Lesson Planning and developing age-appropriate educational materials
- Obtain and/or maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
- Skills in teaching and providing ongoing Training and guidance to support staff
- Passion for early childhood development and fostering student growth
- Ability to meet licensing and educational requirements for a Lead Teacher role
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood-related field, or a degree with 18 credit hours in child development or child-related courses, or State Department of Education license with Pre-Kendorsement.
- Experience working in Head Start or similar early childhood education programs is a plus
- Possess basic math skills.
- Medical examination report on file within thirty (30) days of beginning work in the facility. The medicalexamination report shall include either a Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment form, completed and signed bya health care professional, or a negative tuberculin skin test (TST) completed not more than twelve (12) months before beginning work in the facility.
