The First Line BaaS Risk & Regulatory Manager is responsible for managing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the risk evaluation framework for the Bank’s BIN Sponsorship and BaaS Programs. The role falls within the line of business (first line of defense) and is responsible for proactively advising on potential risks and mitigation strategies as well as providing guidance on compliance matters and best practices to maintain a strong compliance culture within the company.

The First Line BaaS Risk & Regulatory Manager will act as a subject matter expert to support the BaaS line of business’ ability to anticipate, manage, and adapt to risks while ensuring adherence with evolving regulatory expectations. They act as both a guardian of stability and a catalyst for resilience in the Bank’s BaaS program, supporting the Bank’s strategic initiatives through sound, growth-oriented risk management techniques and compliance guidance that enables innovation.

• Originate commercial loan relationships through proactive business development efforts, including frequent outside calling on clients and prospects.
• Risk Assessment Program Administration:
  Administer the end-to-end development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the risk assessment framework and supporting software, ensuring it remains current and effective across operational, compliance, BSA, and other risk domains. Drive consistent application of risk methodology and focus on automation where possible to support future scalability and strength of the BaaS program.
• Compliance and Risk Guidance:
  Provide insightful compliance and risk analysis to guide product development, focusing on creative, compliant pathways to market. Partner with business teams, second line compliance, and other subject matter experts to design forward-looking solutions that support the deployment of unique programs, applying a “how can we do it” mindset that balances innovation with regulatory expectations.
• Incident Remediation Analysis:
  Evaluate incidents by ensuring all relevant details are obtained, asking relevant compliance questions, and confirming sufficient information has been obtained. Verify that full root cause analysis and corrective actions have been completed prior to closure and provide recommendations or request additional feedback to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
