About the opportunity:
In this position, you’ll make outbound sales calls, mostly to exiting customers. Working from our headquarters in West Berkeley, you’ll engage with customers to determine this season’s services are a good match to each caller's needs.

Reporting to the Strategic Assistant to the CEO (S.A.), and supporting our Client Services Manager, the focus of your work will be to ensure our clients understand our most current offerings. You’ll also follow up with recent customers to learn about their experience with our arborists and field teams so we can confirm the high-quality of our services.

As the first-ever person in this role, you’ll be tasked with learning our new CRM and helping to evaluate other software systems. If able, you’ll serve as the lead point of contact for setting up a new front end with assistance from our next CRM vendor.

This opportunity provides great skill building experience for folks planning a long-term career in client services, or sales.

Since 1980, The Professional Tree Care Company has been trusted for tree services throughout Northern California. Based in West Berkeley, we service commercial, residential, and public works projects from Mendocino to Monterey, and from San Francisco to Sacramento. We are known for excellent customer service, and the ability to remove enormous trees using large cranes and heavy equipment.

What makes us unique? We recycle material removed from job sites at our own Green Waste Recycle Yard, mill logs into boards and create organic mulch from the wood chips. We also have the staff, equipment, resources, and experience to perform tree services at any scale.

• Make outgoing sales calls. You’ll use your natural talents to build rapport and trust with customers while educating them about the services we offer.
• Handing clients off to our CSM (Client Services Manager) if they would like to schedule a site visit appointment with a Certified Arborists/Estimators.
• Learning Arbor Gold, our existing CRM.
• Serving as the point-person on a team that will decide on a new CRM system.
• Creating reports inside Arbor Gold to track incoming sales calls, plus weekly, monthly, seasonal fluctuations, sales conversion rates, etc.
• Following up with customers who have received estimates, emailing and calling to learn when we’ll be moving forward with the job or, if not, why not.
• Following up with customers at the end of every project to learn how it went and to request social media reviews, if applicable.
• Working with our marketing team to review our marketing efforts and make recommendations.
• Other sales related projects as your schedule allows.

• You like people. This role is best for someone who is comfortable making all manner of phone calls including outbound calls to our clients, vendors, colleagues, and other folks related to our industry.
• You’re great at CRM software; have used several types and are willing/able to set up the front end of our new system.
• You’re an eloquent and efficient communicator.
• You’re highly organized, and can provide examples.
• You work at a fast pace, have high attention to detail, and can manage a wide variety of tasks efficiently.
