Emergency Veterinary Technician (Inpatient)

Veterinary Technician (RVT) / Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Seeking a compassionate, skilled, upbeat Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our tight-knit team.

Hiring bonus of $2500.00 for successful candidate! Weekend shift differential and overnight shift differential.

Who are we looking for?

Please have a positive personality, be capable of effective communication, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, multi-task like a pro, and have a well-rounded skill set and solid knowledge base. As we are a 24-hour emergency hospital please be willing to work outside of the boring 9am-5pm weekday schedule. We prefer someone with at least one year of experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting Veterinarians and other staff members
  • Restraining animals safely using stress-free handling techniques
  • Working collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
  • Successfully use all in house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
  • Safely and effectively take digital radiographs
  • Be able to calculate drug dosages
  • Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
  • Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)
  • Possess or develop advanced emergency skills
  • Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
  • Effectively care for and communicate with clients
