Seeking a compassionate, skilled, upbeat Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our expanding Oncology team.

Position: PETS Referral Center
Location: Berkeley, CA

We are a Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Hospital located in Berkeley. PETS is a talented and collaborative team that enjoys working together to provide excellent patient care and client service. We have a long history of providing excellent service to our community.

• Assisting our Oncologist and other team members
• Restraining animals safely using stress‑free handling techniques
• Working collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
• Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
• Successfully using all in‑house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
• Safely and effectively taking digital radiographs
• Calculating drug dosages
• Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
• Proficiency with venous catheterization
• Possessing or acquiring knowledge of chemotherapy medications and how to deliver them
• Possessing or acquiring knowledge of chemotherapy protocols
• Effectively caring for and communicating with clients

• Positive personality and effective communication skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment

• Multi‑tasking proficiency

• Well‑rounded skill set and solid knowledge base

• Oncology experience preferred, but not required

• Must have experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital
