$120,000–$135,000 Base (housing assistance optional)

A growing, privately held real estate investment platform focused on student housing is seeking a Director of Leasing to lead and scale its leasing function during a period of active portfolio growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a leasing professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and wants full ownership of leasing strategy, team development, and performance.

The Opportunity

The firm owns and operates a concentrated student housing portfolio and is entering a new growth phase, with recent acquisitions completed and additional properties under evaluation. Leasing today is execution-focused, and leadership is looking to add a senior operator who can bring structure, strategy, and proactive thinking to the function.

You’ll step into a visible role with real authority — leading the leasing team, shaping strategy, and helping scale the platform as the portfolio grows.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage the full leasing function across a student housing portfolio

• Hire, onboard, train, and develop leasing agents as the team scales

• Coach performance, conduct reviews, and handle accountability conversations

• Build proactive leasing strategies tied to velocity, pricing, and market dynamics

• Analyze leasing performance and identify opportunities for improvement

• Collaborate closely with ownership and internal teams

• Maintain a hands-on presence at properties as needed

Team & Structure

• Lead a current team of 3 leasing professionals

• Support expansion to 5–7+ leasing team members

• Act as the senior leasing leader and primary point of accountability

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Direct experience in student housing leasing

• Minimum 2+ years of people management with direct reports

• Proven ability to train, coach, and lead teams

• Strategic mindset with the ability to operate independently

Strongly Preferred

• Background as a Leasing Manager, Senior Leasing Manager, AGM, or GM

• Experience scaling teams or supporting portfolio growth

• Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment
