Senior Director of PeopleWe are looking to bring on a Senior Director of People at CAA to lead our People function and drive a long term people strategy. The People function at CAA includes people operations, performance management, total rewards, recruiting, employee experience, and more.
Responsibilities- Act as a strong partner to your fellow leadership and management team in developing goals and strategies that increase the impact of CAA's people across the organization.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the people team;
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CAA Board of Directors on people-related matters, including organizational health, culture, workforce planning, and key risks or opportunities.
- Develop creative solutions to create a great employee experience in a hybrid environment.
- Act as the HRBP to the org, helping develop managers and being a trusted voice to all employees.
- Support the Workplace experience, partnering closely with Facilities to ensure Alumni House functions as an inclusive workspace for staff, alumni, and guests.
- Work with internal and external partners to hire the right talent for CAA.
- Own the HR tech stack, including assessing current tools and potential tools.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a two person People team.
- Develop and manage the HR budget.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment, and health and safety laws and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures to provide transparency, mitigate risk, and align with current best practices. Partner with legal counsel as needed.
- Coordinate required training courses, including Umbrella MOU requirements.
- Develop and manage relationships with professional services providers and campus partners.
- Serve as Plan Administrator for 403(b) and pension retirement plans.
- 7+ years of people leadership experience.
- Proven ability to design and communicate clear processes and programs paired with a detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving.
- Track record of developing forward-thinking talent strategies and initiatives, while simultaneously scaling a compelling company culture and driving strong employee engagement.
- Demonstrated business acumen and strong voice at the leadership level, advocating for programs and driving solutions that align with broader business goals.
- Prior experience working with a mix of exempt, non-exempt, and seasonal populations.
- Experience building a hybrid culture.
- Willingness and excitement to operate on both strategic and operational altitudes.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- HR leadership experience with a comprehensive understanding of best practices in multiple HR disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent consulting, communication, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of federal and California state, and local employment and payroll laws.
- Experience working in a nonprofit environment.
- Knowledge and familiarity of the University of California system, as well as the Berkeley campus.
- UC Berkeley alum.
This position is classified as an at-will, full-time, exempt position. Pay range is $160,000-$190,000 annualized.
