Departmental Overview
Berkeley Public Health (BPH) aims to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research. Established in 1943, BPH is a professional school on the UC Berkeley campus that comprises six academic divisions and nearly 30 research centers and programs. Center for Targeted Machine Learning (CTML) Administrative Team Overview
The Center for Targeted Machine Learning and Causal Inference (CTML) at UC Berkeley is an interdisciplinary research center for advancing, implementing and disseminating methodology to address problems arising in public health and clinical medicine. CTML's mission statement is to drive rigorous, transparent, and reproducible science by harnessing cutting-edge causal inference and machine learning methods targeted towards robust discoveries, informed decision-making, and improving health.
The administrative team is made up of a senior director of administration and finance, a project coordinator, and 2-3 student assistants. The team is responsible for both external and internal communications; managing the website and social media accounts; distributing a monthly newsletter; center marketing; and supporting BPH’s communication and development teams, HR, Dean's office, and other teams within the school.
Summary
The Events Manager within the Administration Team within CTML works under the direction of the Senior Director of Administration and Finance and closely with center’s Co-Directors and colleagues to produce a wide variety of events including annual conferences both onsite and remote, and one-off high profile speaking engagements.

Responsibilities- Lead the planning, project management, and production: in-person and live streamed events ranging from 40 to 1,000 attendees, ensuring smooth, effective execution.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve potential and actual issues using tact, sensitivity, discretion, and political acumen.
- Event types include annual conferences (onsite and remote) and high-profile one-off speaking engagements.
