Role Description
The company is hiring a Reliability Engineer (open to level) to improve the reliability, performance, and lifetime of their energy systems. You will lead reliability test development, design for reliability, and cross-functional validation for several critical subsystems. This is an opportunity to help shape the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and a mission to decarbonize industry.
What You’ll Do- Lead the reliability strategy for critical mechanical, electrical, and thermal subsystems, using first-principles analysis to anticipate potential failure modes and guide system design in areas where empirical data is limited
- Convert ambitious product goals into concrete reliability targets, establishing testing approaches and metrics that predict long-term system performance even in the absence of extensive prior data
- Create and execute inventive experiments to probe system weaknesses, uncover root causes of failure, and develop accelerated testing protocols grounded in fundamental engineering principles
- Conduct reliability testing including stress, thermal, fatigue, and lifetime assessments
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Mechatronics, or related engineering field
- Solid understanding and application of using first principles
- 5+ years of industry experience in testing mechanical, electrical, or thermal systems
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing tests to evaluate performance and reliability of complex systems
- Familiarity with liquid or gas handling systems is a plus
- Experience with accelerated lifetime testing methods to assess component and system reliability
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents
- Life insurance and AD&D
- Flexible time off and paid holidays, including a company week-long holiday in December
- 401(k) plan with company match
You will be part of a mission-driven team transforming energy systems with innovative, low-carbon solutions. Your work will directly impact the reliability and scalability of the company’s next-generation energy platforms, helping industries adopt sustainable energy solutions safely and efficiently.
